The Right to Dissent but not in America

You have the right to dissent against the government, as long as you don't exercise that right against the Government.

On the 15th of February 2011, Secretary Hillary Clinton was delivering a speech that was berating the Authoritarian Governments for taking brutal actions and reprisals against those who peacefully protest. 71 year old Veteran Army Officer, Ray McGovern, remained standing during that speech with his back turned to her. He said nothing just stood there proudly wearing a T-Shirt with the message "Veterans for Peace." During her condescending lecture towards the very countries that the US props up with taxpayer money, police grabbed and dragged McGovern out the George Washington University lecture hall. He was beaten and thrown in jail while still bleeding.

As McGovern was being forcibly dragged out, Secretary Clinton continue her speech as if she was oblivious to what was unfolding in front her; or was her lack of action her acquiescence of the atrocity?

After being held by police, McGovern was told that he would be charged with disorderly conduct. [1] [2]

Less than four years prior, a University of Florida student was dragged away from a microphone while he was trying to grill Senator John Kerry after listening to his two hour speech went around in circles. University Police tased him and cuffed him.

Let the video captured by Kyle Mitchell of The Gainesville Sun do the talking...

Federal Judge in Florida Rules Obamacare Unconstitutional

Federal Judge in Florida Rules Obamacare Unconstitutional: "At issue was whether the government is reaching beyond its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce by requiring citizens to purchase health insurance or face tax penalties."

Health Insurance is governed under State Laws & Statutes. Citizens buy Insurance in that State and cannot buy from another State, where is some case is cheaper because different Pay-in/Pay-out ratios for each State set up by the Insurance companies to cut costs and maximize profits.

Having said that, all Insurance, be it Helath, Auto or Home is intrastate commerce therefore cannot fall under Federal Interstate Commerce regulation.

“I love those gigantic tits” or Tales from the Airport Perv Scanner

Since the introduction of the virtual strip search machines, privacy rights activists and Libertarians have been screaming foul. Despite assurances from the TSA and other government agencies that you don't see actual genitalia, our worse fears have been realized.

Recently reported in the Idendity Project Blog, Papers, Please! titled "Heathrow body scanner operator: “I love those gigantic tits”; a Heathrow Airport scanner operator snapped a picture of a coworker accidentally wandered into the machine. This happened in less than two months after the machines were installed.

Jo Margetson, 29, told reporters: "I can't bear to think about the body scanner thing. I'm totally traumatised. I've spoken to the police about it. I'm in too much of a state to go to work."

It did not take long for Critics of the machines to be proven right.

One could hope that this abuse of governmental power and invasion of privacy will be dismantled now, especially since a scant three days prior, it's been reported that terrorists have already found a way to circumvent the perv scanners.

Democrats Seek to Defy the Voters

With compromise unlikely, Dems eye shortcut for health care and defy the will of the people.

If it was just a question of finding ways for the uninsured to have equal access to Health Care Insurance, there would be little debate. The issue at hand is the Government wants to expand its control over everyone's health care insurance. President Obama stated that
...we must also address the crushing cost of health care.

This is a cost that now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds. By the end of the year, it could cause 1.5 million Americans to lose their homes. In the last eight years, premiums have grown four times faster than wages. And in each of these years, one million more Americans have lost their health insurance. It is one of the major reasons why small businesses close their doors and corporations ship jobs overseas. And it’s one of the largest and fastest-growing parts of our budget.

This is coming from the same Government that fails to exercise any real oversight to put an end to Medicare/Medicaid fraud. This costs the Government in excess of $10 Billion a year. Yet our President and his Democratic henchmen in Congress want to control the costs on existing Health Care plans? Based on Government Run insurance already, it will end up costing all of us ten-fold to have insurance.

Mr. President, with all due respect, you need to fix the Medicare/Medicaid mess first before you take on any real reforms. So far, the only references that any Heath Care Expansion Bill has had were cuts to the Social Security funded Health Care and reducing its scope of coverage. In fact, as of 1 March 2010, you have slashed the amount of money paid to Doctors by 21%.

Based on what you honestly desire, by the time you finish reforming my existing coverage, it will be laying in smoldering ruin. After your "cost controls" finish chasing away the best Doctors, we will have to go third world countries to get the best medical care.

Alan Grayson is Nuts (D-FL)

There is independent fund raising committee whose website, MyCongressmanIsNuts.com, went from near obscurity to National Exposure when Alan Grayson filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Committee to have the site shut down. He also personally asked that Attorney General Eric Holder to fine and imprison Angie Langley (website owner and committee leader) for exercising her first amendment right to free political speech.

This is the same man that purposely held a "Town Hall" meeting in a Union Hall that had a Pro Liberal audience already inside for a previous meeting. The majority of those let in at the door afterwards were supports that were not constituents.

The irony of the last fact is, his complaint against Langley was not one of his constituents. It seems he just has problem with anyone, besides himself, exercising their Constitutional Rights as protected under the First Amendment.

Here is a few words from his fellow House of Representatives Members.

Did you read the $800 Billion Stimulus Bill that you ostensibly co-sponsored and co-authored?

No, seriously, did you read it at all?

Maybe I shouldn't be taking up with the "Evil Republicans." Let's hear what his fellow "kindler, gentler, Democrats" have to say about his behavior.

After Senator Grayson accused Republicans of telling the sick to go off and die under their counter-proposal for Health Care Reform, The Republicans asked him to apologize for his inflammatory remarks. He willing obliges them in the way that only Alan Grayson can.

In conclusion, Mr, Grayson, you are nuts!!

NeuroDiversity weblog: Subpoenaed

I've written on more than one occasion about the need for Tort Reform. The majority of the cases that over-emphasize the need are multi-million dollar lawsuits aimed at some segment of the Medical Industry driving up Health Care Costs exponentially.

This article is excellent example of the overreaching effects of runaway lawsuits and a primary reason of why Tort Reform is woefully needed in this country. An over-zealous and litigation happy lawyer has subpoenaed unneeded and inappropriate material from Kathleen Seidel, mother of an autistic child, a Blogger, an Independent Journalist and an Autism Research Advocate.

This was a retaliatory response from the lawyer and his clients engaged in a $20M lawsuit against a pharmaceutical company who were taken to task in an factual expose on a egregious example of the "Litigation Lottery".
